Ariel Turns 3!!

Ariel and her Birthday Cookies!!
Last night I tucked my sweet little girl into bed and thought "Where has the time gone?" I can't believe that Ariel is three today! I woke up at 3:30 this morning (that was the time that she was born) and gave her a big kiss and just looked at her pretty face as she slept. I wish that I could just hold her again like I did when she was a baby but I am excited to see her growing and developing into a precious little girl. You can go here to see her 2nd birthday pictures and here to see the day she was born, I don't have her first birthday on blogger since we were moving at that time :(

This morning I got both kids up at 6:20 since it was a school day and I wanted some time for Ariel to enjoy her presents with her brother around. I just love watching her rip the paper off of gifts and then see her little face light up with excitement when she finally sees what's inside!

For Ariel's birthday party today, 6 of Ariel's friends and Dan, Ariel and I met at the Promenade Food Pavillion and had cookies with frosting on top and then opened presents. Then at 10:30 we all walked over to Build-A-Bear and had a wonderful time creating new bears to love on. I think the kids had a great time!

She found her bear!

She was so excited!
That is...until I wanted a picture with her!

Here's the whole group!
Ashlyn, Kate, Ainsley, Hailey, Will, Hannah and Ariel

She's got her box and she is ready to go home!

And this last picture is of her dollhouse. I decoupaged the other side of Caleb's panels on his train table so that Ariel could use it as her dollhouse table. It works perfectly!

Labor Day Weekend

We went to Harrison over the weekend and we had a blast just playing at Dan's parents house and relaxing. Dan and I went canoeing with Dan's sister and brother and two of their friends. It was an interesting trip to say the least but we had fun despite the rapid water...EEEKK! Here are a few pics of Caleb in the swing and Ariel on the tractor.

It's Soccer Time!!

Caleb started soccer for the first time this season. Our schedule has gotten pretty full but we are still managing good family time each week and are eating at least 4 meals a week at our family table that was my only goal!!!

It has taken Caleb a little while to adjust to liking soccer. He kept saying that it was too hard and that the other kids kept taking the ball away from him. Dan has been trying to coach him through it though and he had his first game on Tuesday. He did rather well for being a 5 year old...there were lots of staring off in space moments, fiddling with his shirt, coming off the field while on the clock to talk to us, potty breaks, drinks of water...ya know the typical kid things. But he said that he had fun and wanted to go back. I think next game I will make him rest a while before the game, maybe that will make things a little easier for him!!

Dan had remembered this picture of when he played his first year of soccer. Is this not the cutest thing ever!?

dinner with my man

Week before last, Dan and I went to PF Chang's for dinner. It was so nice to get away for a few hours and have a good dinner with him. Caleb (our little photographer) took this picture of us before we left. Dan and I don't get many pictures together so it is nice to have an updated picture!

Lunch with Caleb at School

For some reason blogger won't let me move pictures around anymore?? Anyone know why?

Caleb and Malea...Caleb's friend from church that goes to the same school as him.

Dan and I had lunch with Caleb at school last Thursday while Ariel was at Ainsley's house for a play date. It was a great opportunity to see some of his friends and to meet a few of his teachers. He absolutely loved having us sit with him at the special table that they provide for the parents. It was also a great time for him to be introduced to the school lunches. I had previously been making his lunch everyday for school but once he found out that they serve a lot of his favorite food (hot dogs (on wheat bun), quesadillas, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, pepperoni pizza, etc.) he was actually excited about eating hot lunches at school. They also provide fruit and carrots with ranch (which he loves) and skim chocolate milk. It makes me very happy to see that he isn't so picky anymore, even though he does tend to get out of eating my meals in the evening still, just because I don't feed him the foods that he loves, like those stated above!!

First Day of Kindgergarten and Tornadoes!!

Yesterday marked the first day of public school for Caleb. I got up at 6:00, read my bible, got myself dressed and made Caleb's lunch all before I got the kids up. I got Caleb up first. He had cereal and homemade banana bread for breakfast. Then I got Ariel up and got her fed. While they were eating we read the bible together and I talked to Caleb about dropping him off at school and picking him up and what to expect for his first day. Then I got the kids dressed. We took a few pictures and then we were out the door!

Dan, Ariel and I walked Caleb in to his classroom right at 7:45. He put his backpack and lunch bag in his cubbie and went straight to his seat. We gave him kisses and hugs and then sent him on his way! No tears from any of us!

When I picked him up from school all he could talk about was a girl named Claire that he met and the playground...it apparently has the tallest slide that he has ever seen! And he said he wanted to go back today...so that is a good thing!

Last night we were awaken by a tornado warning. It was at 3:45am. Dan had stayed up late working on a project for the city and didn't make it to bed until 3:00. So he was kinda out of it when I woke him up. I wasn't aware that we were under a tornado warning until I checked the weather on weather.com and then I kinda panicked and took everything out of the utility room and threw some blankets and pillows on the floor in there and got the flash light and cell phone. Dan helped me get the kids downstairs and I made a pallet in the floor for the kids to lay on. The sirens never went off but I was glad that I woke up and checked the weather! We stayed downstairs for about 20 minutes and then we all went back to bed. I slept with Ariel for a while until I was sure the worst of it was over. It was a little tough getting up this morning that is for sure!

If you are interested...

I would be happy to help out my blogger readers with a small face lift for their blog site. Basically, I would create an image that would match one of the already pre-made blog sites such as:

pyzam.com
thecutestblogontheblock.com

...the backgrounds can be from other sites as well, I just don't know of that many!

I would charge $15 for one image. It could have up to three pictures on it and whatever colors and or designs you want. I will not be able to makeover the entire blogger site due to the fact that I am not savvy in html codes and such. All it will be is an image that you can put in your "header" spot on your blog instead of a picture. If this is something that you would be intersted in you can email me at thepeekabooimage@gmail.com or simply leave a comment below!
