Gulf Shores Day 2

Today we had another day at the beach. Today the kids had a blast just playing in the waves and sand. And Dan and I enjoyed relaxing in the sun and watching them play.

This evening we attempted family photos at the beach. They turned out really well and I can't wait to get home and edit them. Dan and I spent some time this evening together on the balcony overlooking the beach. So refreshing!

Gulf Shores Day 1

Today we spent the first part of our day at the beach. We came in around noon, took showers and then went and ate lunch at The Oyster House and then went to Walmart to get some groceries.

When we got back to the condo, we all took a short nap and then went back down to the beach for some more sand and sun. We then had dinner on our patio overlooking the ocean.

After sun down, the kids played in the pool until 10:00. I must say we are exhausted and are in need of some rest tonight!

Gulf Shores Bound!

This morning I didn't get to bed until a little after midnight since I was out celebrating Nichole's Birthday with some friends. I then had to get up at 3:45 to get the last things loaded in the suburban. We finally hit the road a little after 5:00 am.
Here we are about to head out!

We saw the sun come up!

Passed through lots of cities...this is Little Rock, one of my home towns.

Caleb helped us study the map.

And Ariel gave us an art show! Her sign says "Ariel's Art opened today! "

And the kids slept a little. Not as much as I had hoped! They also watched a lot of DVD's and video games.

This is Louisiana, our halfway point!
I was amazed at how green everything was!

Our last 30 minute stretch!!

And we're here!

The view from our room. Our condo is so nice!

Two thumbs up!

Our bedroom for the next 4 nights!

We are so glad to be here!

Nichole's 30th birthday party

This morning I woke to this little beauty beside me. I don't remember her coming in here at all. I just stared at her while she slept.

Today I packed all day. We leave for the beach tomorrow at 5:00 am.

My friend Nichole turned 30 today and a bunch of her closest friends and I took her out to dinner at Mimi's. We had a great time!

The birthday girl and I!

Grooming Day

The kids have been on a Salon kick the past few days. They named the salon Vidal Sasoon. Today the decided to groom their stuffed animals.

Then, Ariel and I did some grooming on our own by painting our toenails. I even let her paint them on her own...with just a little help!

Today I had a hair appointment with Connie and Ariel decided she needed to be under the dryer too!

Waiting on the rain...again

It's a common thing around here for the kids to get super excited about rain...well I think we all get excited actually because it is so rare!
It sprinkled for just a bit the other day. Ariel was the first to stand in it!

Then the rain stopped and the kids waited patiently for another storm to come through. It didn't produce much rain at all so the made their own!

Then they swabbed the deck!

And finished off the waiting with homemade sun tea pops.

Getting Ready for the Beach!

This week I have been gearing up for the beach. It's quite a chore but I feel so relieved knowing that I started so early. Less stress for sure!
I have our clothes picked out for beach photos.

The list is in process...

Bags are getting packed...

And these are getting charged and ready as well.

Looking so forward to some great time with my family. We all need a break!

Love Loud Mission Day

This morning I went with our youth team to Love Loud Mission Day. It's a one day a month mission team and we go to our sister church at college avenue baptist church in Fayetteville to feed the homeless. It was such a humbling experience. We served about 60 people breakfast. And then we were able to visit briefly with them.
These are just a few of my girls that I teach each Sunday. Love doing life with them!

The team. We were waiting to hand out fliers to neighboring streets to get kids involved in the VBS they are having next week.

We all had lunch and Braum's afterward and then my mom and I went shopping for school clothes for the kids. Dan and I had dinner in tonight and watched a movie.

Rain!!

It rained all night long! It was incredible hearing the low rumbles of thunder!! I woke up to droplets on my window while I did my quiet time.

Ariel and Caleb are going to Harrison for the weekend and she made me this bracelet so I wouldn't forget her. She also made me a picture of me on the beach sitting under a palm tree! Only 5 days until I will be there in real life!

Dan and I went out to dinner after dropping the kids off with Rita. We saw this beautiful sunset. The Lord is such an amazing artist!
