Little baby cardinal!

Over the winter I would constantly look out my living room window and see a red cardinal sitting on our cedar out front. He would be around at least every other day and I constantly wanted to get a picture of him but he was always so quick to fly away. Well Dan had informed me that the cardinal and his mate had layed eggs in a little nest. I went and looked the other day to see if they had hatched and there was a baby cardinal in there! There is another egg that should be hatching here soon as well!

Our first pool day!

On Monday the temperature outside was near 90 degrees so I decided to get the pools out of the garage and get them blown up and cleaned off. After the kids had their naps, we went out and played for a couple hours. Caleb loves pouring water all over him...that is why I gave him a seperate pool, so he wouldn't splash his sister! Ariel sat in her little floatie so that she was able to sit without falling over. They both had a blast! I am sure that we will be looking forward to many more backyard pool days!

Reflections in the water

I was watering the flowers on the front porch the other afternoon while Caleb was playing in the yard and I sat Ariel in on the porch for a minute so that I could get some chalk for Caleb. When I came back I didn't realize that I had sat her in a puddle on the porch...the was covered in little droplets of water from splashing her little hands in he water. When I looked into the water I noticed that there was a reflection of her in it and I thought it looked pretty neat so I took a picture of it to share.

Cuddling with Love-a-Lot Bear

One of the things that Ariel likes to cuddle with his her Love-a-Lot bear.

Tumble Time

Caleb was acting goofy right after I did the "photo session" with him and Ariel. He decided to start tumbling all over the floor...this is him in action!

Smiles

I was in the middle of folding two tons of laundry the other day and Caleb was begging me to take some pictures of him and Ariel. They were so photogenic that day and full of smiles!

Ariel is 7 months!

My sweet girl turned 7 months yesterday. It's just so amazing how fast they grow! She has got the greatest personality ever. She is finally rolling all around when she is on the floor, she has started lifting her behind up in the air and is scooting backwards while she is on her tummy, I guess this is her way of crawling! She loves eating cheerios and cries when she runs out. She is still wobbly when she is sitting but her back is getting really strong and is able to sit with support.

She loves eating! She will eat a full 2.5 oz container of fruit in the mornings, she will have some Cheerios and a veggie for lunch and then for dinner she will eat 5 oz of a veggie and fruit. She is still nursing although she is getting more and more formula throughout the week because my schedule has been filling up since I have started back at the gym. I am so thankful that she can take a formula bottle so when she and I both decide to ween, it will be much easier on both of us.

Her naps are finally on a schedule. She will take a nap about 2 hours after getting up in the mornings (usually around 9:30 or 10 am) and sleep for about an hour. Then she will take a nap around 1 or 2 which is the same time Caleb takes his nap and sleep for about 2 hours, the same amount as Caleb. Then her third nap is usually about 45 minutes long and she takes it at about 5:30 or 6.

She gets a bath nearly every night now. She tends to get a rash on her face due to all the foods that are being smashed against it during the day so after I give her a bath I put hydrocortizone (sp?) cream on her face and by in the morning the rash is gone.

She loves to razz and hear herself scream. She likes to look at herself in the mirror and pat her hands on things. She absolutely loves it when her brother is around and loves getting attention from him. They will get to giggling so hard that they both lose their breath sometimes! She loves to wear dresses and I still put a bow in her hair everyday...even if we are at home! She still has the tiniest feet...still wears a size 1 shoe...and they are still a little big on her.

I am sure that there are so many other things that I am leaving out but overall she is the best that I could have ever imagined. We had our first rough night since she was born about a week ago. She was up crying for two hours in the middle of the night because she would automatically roll over on her stomach and couldn't get back over so she would get upset. But it was short lived and she is sleeping 8 hours straight without nursing now.

Life is good and I so enjoy the moments that I have with her and just try to relax and not force her to grow up too fast because she may be my last baby!
