Easter weekend was cool and rainy.  I let the kids do several craft projects...

Extreme Spring Weather

This spring we have had the most extreme weather EVER!  At times it has been very scary and deadly.  On Sunday, May 24th a deadly F5 Tornado swept right through the heart of Joplin Missouri.  It killed over 120 people and left the town in shambles.  That evening and also two days later, our family was taking cover for our lives as tornados were popping up left and right.  It is scary not knowing what God has in store, but his hands are there to protect us and not to tear us down.  I am thankful for my church in helping Joplin out through this time.  There is so much cleaning up and rebuilding that needs to be done.  With Joplin only being an hour away, it makes it easier to send teams up there from our church once a week to help out where needed.  Below are some other photos of the devestation from Joplin and also from our neck of the woods.

The kids read books while taking shelter from the storms.

This was not a tornado but these clouds looked super scary!

We had significant amounts of flooding as well!

Baseball

Caleb played baseball this season.  The weather that we had this spring made playing a bit hard.  There were lots of game cancellations but the team did rather well together.  He played for the Cal Ripken League at Bentonville and he was on the Indians team.  I was proud of Caleb for trying baseball.  I don't think that right now it is his "sport" but you don't know until you try, and to me that is all that matters, is that he DID try.  The coach allowed him to play all different positions, I think his favorite was pitcher...even though they played with a pitching machine!

This is what Ariel did most of the time at games, watched cartoons on my iphone...she's got it made!

Front Porch Makeover

Our front porch was in desperate need of some color and a make-over.  I decided to paint the rocking chairs black...I really wanted to paint them turquoise but Dan wasn't having it!  I also revamped a small little rocker that I have had since childhood and painted it red.  I added some flowers and a fern and wa-la!  A new look for the front porch for not a lot of money!
